The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Consumer Protection Act, Act 04 of 2013 read with the National Consumer Protection Act, Act 68 of 2008, provides to protect and promote the rights of consumers within the Province of KZN. The Act provides consumers with redress against a business found to have engaged in prohibited conduct. The Act protects all consumers within the Republic of South Africa and is applicable to all businesses trading within the Republic. An aggrieved consumer has the right to lodge a complaint against a business with the Office of the KZN Consumer Protector if he/she is dissatisfied with goods or service supplied by a business.

By submitting a complaint, I give the Office of the KwaZulu-Natal Consumer Protector within the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, KZN the sole mandate to act, negotiate, investigate, mediate and/or advice on my behalf to resolve my complaint.

I further grant the Office of the KwaZulu-Natal Consumer Protector permission to request any necessary supporting documents, for the purpose of investigating my complaint in terms of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Consumer Protection Act, Act 04 of 2013 and The Consumer Protection Act, Act 68 of 2008. I also consent, understand and accept that my personal details will be utilised by the Office of the KwaZulu Natal Consumer Protector for record keeping, statistical analysis and recording, and for internal departmental and external publication purposes.
